Letting go: Change in Business

I don’t normally write about business, but this is about business and change and letting go …

It’s wise to remember that you already have everything you need to be the person you know you are, and to have the business you want. The only thing holding you and your business back is your belief that you just aren’t enough …  the fear of change, letting go, of being the-mouse-on-the-wheel and the willingness to recognise your own reality.

Finance and Fear

It isn’t until you reach a point at which you realise everything you do is fear-based and possibly (or even probably) centred around a lack of finance, that you are really able to make the tough decisions.

Is this you? Are you ready to begin the letting go process? Don’t wait to be asked … just do it! You’re more than qualified for just about anything.

Time for the Letting Go process

I found that when I started to go through everything I have created in the last few years, it was a real eye-opener in terms of how much ‘product’ I have.

Really good and useful product specifically for women over 50; product that answers so many of the questions you and your friends and relations ask when you have finally tip-toed past 50. And yet it didn’t attract the people for whom it was created! It was time for the letting go process.

Comparisons are odious, but I also started looking at what others were delivering and some of it is excellent … some of it is appalling! The problem we all have is understanding that different people like different people … if someone likes you, they may not like somebody else who does exactly the same thing as you … and vice versa! It’s hard to accept because we want everybody to love us …

You are Unique … a stand-alone!

Nobody does exactly the same thing as you because you are you. There is no one size fits all! When it comes to your business, yes, there are certain irrefutable Laws of Business, but they don’t take the unknown factor into account; and that is you! It becomes a question of your ability for letting go …

Be an unknown factor that takes people by surprise … making the decision to adopt the practice of Letting go will do that for you .

For me, changing my business was finding the courage to say, this isn’t working so I’m Letting Go, and then doing it … you can’t let go if you don’t know what it is you need to discard. Finding what needs to go, what you can keep and what you need to create are the challenge.

The long hard look at reality.

If you’re in a similar situation to the one I was in, it’s time to take a long hard look at …

• Your level of self-confidence
• Your self-esteem. Yes, they are two different things and you cannot have true self-confidence until your self-esteem is strong.
• Your business; is this what you really want to do. If you could change everything in a heartbeatwhat would you change?
• How confident are you in your abilities in your business
• What do you enjoy about your business
• What are you offering people who come to you and your business?
• What is the true value of what you offer?

There are so many questions to ask yourself. This is the tip of the iceberg and it can turn you into the mouse on the wheel. Or are you already the mouse on the wheel? Chasing an idea that quite simply isn’t working for you. Time for letting go perhaps?

If you’re drowning in financial woes, if you’re achieving goals but they’re not quite what you had in mind, if you’re not achieving goals at all, if you’re pouring yourself into your business and it just isn’t working, what do you need to let go of? It may even be your entire business … it may be that you should be doing something similar, akin to, or nothing like what you are doing now … only you know. And you will only know after finding the answers to the right questions …

Start asking the right questions … the answers may surprise you.
You will get clarification on how to approach letting go process … for you.
