One thing that is true is that we really have to stop throwing clothing and fabrics away because:

□ they’re too short/long
□ too old-fashioned

Fabrics and your shopping
When you shop, you will often find Synthetic clothes are overpriced by manufacturers and stores. The marketing ploy is that it gives customers an incentive to buy more expensive items made from natural fabrics. Customers will happily over-pay for a cotton or woollen top because it’s natural.
But is it sustainable? Not necessarily …
It’s time to really focus on reading labels, just as we do with our food, to ensure what we buy is sustainable; it also has to look great and we like fabrics that look classy!
Designer Outlets … often not good for fabrics
Why have I picked on Designer outlets? Because so many people go to outlets in their money-saving-quest in the belief they’re going to get something designer for not-a-lot.
Unfortunately, people often aren’t getting what they think they’re paying for … especially in fabrics.
Visiting China a few years ago I learned that many of the Lux brands are made in the same factory as the market-stall knock-offs. Which is why it can be so difficult for the uninitiated to separate the knock-offs from the real deal.
Lux brands often make items from cheaper fabrics, specifically for outlets. Can you tell? Yes … just let your fingers do the work!
Clothing today, particularly Fast Fashion is often of poor quality. Bad stitching, badly printed patterns, cheap plastic closings, tacky fabrics and nasty plastic belts that fall apart in 5 minutes … which is the point of fast fashion!
We used to shop for spring/summer and fall/winter. No more. Manufacturers now produce microtrends and new fashions appear almost every week. It means you spend more!
