Women 50+ should be Agents of Change
It’s time we saw midlife women for exactly what they are … agents of change. If we don’t we should because, being honest, we have wit, wisdom, experience and acres of common sense. As well, we have the skills to change the world.
We need to choose …
Is it difficult to change the world?
If you take Greta Thunberg as the perfect example; it would seem not. It used to be if you adopted the “softly, softly catchee monkey” approach it was a doddle. At 16, Greta has shown us that instead, we should employ our own power. When you can inspire other women to employ their power as well, yes, you really can change the world.
Think of Bryce Courtney’s “Power of One” and the actions of his hero, “Peekay”, who believed he could change what needed to be changed and started a process that involved one, then two, then three and then many more people.

Use YOUR power to create a change.
If there is something in your world, or something in the greater world, that you believe should be changed, you have the power to institute a change … it’s just waiting to come out. And for this to happen, you must:
- Create your vision
- Build your team (of believers)
- Develop your plan
- Navigate your journey
If we are to change the world we must refuse to sit back and become invisible because other people find it comfortable. And this isn’t about becoming Superwoman … it’s about knowledge, self-esteem, discovery, motivation, understanding and re-invention.
Where change can start?
There is so much that needs changing on this planet and in society. But perhaps it would be a nice idea to start with the generation of women coming up behind us.
If we empower ourselves and become agents of change, we are setting that generation and every generation that follows, the best example of creating a life well-lived.
We can truly show them how “being the best you can be” can not only change your own life, but the lives of friends and family, and even the lives of total strangers half a world away.
Always remember …
You know, “We don’t stop playing because we grow old; we grow old because we stop playing”!
Start playing a bigger game and become the person you were meant to be …
