It doesn’t matter how much society as a whole appears to accept 55+ women, they don’t. Not even in the US where baby boomer women are, in many ways, more out there than elsewhere. Or are there just more of them?!

This is taken from a chapter in “Hot Stuff” and has been reworked a tad. Personally, I find calling myself a changeling is much nicer than being a menopausal woman …
None of us realises, until we reach a certain age (no, not that certain age), how old our mothers are which has nothing to do with their actual age. Just as we fail to realise, how they are ageing; we’re often caught by surprise when we realise that our mum has suddenly become a little less positive in all she does.
Looking better in beige?
I don’t think so! Gloomy, depressing, negative. UNLESS you have tawny skin and wear a slash of red lipstick.
There is probably a good deal of non-PC in this blog, which is in 3 parts … I make no apologies. It is what it is … read it and weep or read it and get the outcome you wanted.

If you’re still on the fence on this one I hope you’re not getting splinters! Have you still not decided whether it’s best to look younger or better? In my experience, which is vast and which involves working with women even older than I am, the minute they start the better approach, they just look younger.
I have always loved to write … and read! As a child, getting me to take my nose out of a book, or stop scribbling stories on pieces of paper, was a thankless task. My school reports may not have been particularly flattering about my behaviour, but there was always much praise for my ability with a pencil and I always won the essay prizes … along with a Star Badge and a Deportment Badge … what a pain I must have been! Writing was my passion …
How often do you read or hear about Journalling nowadays? A lot, I bet. When even Forbes magazine devotes entire articles to journaling, you know it has achieved a certain cachet; whether you spell it with one L (US) or two Ls (UK)!
Last week, a lovely lady (who shall remain nameless), asked me how I am able to be so happy all the time. I’m not! I’ve learned to keep the not-so-good to myself because it seems to upset others more than me. I know … really?!
How many women do you know who feel, or have felt, invisible when they reached their magic fifties. How many felt as though they were in a Harry Potter story wearing a Cloak of Invisibility?
