I’ve just finished reading an article about society’s extraordinary, generous and open acceptance of Women of a Certain Age. Baby Boomer women. Half-way through the reading, I began to wonder where in the Universe the writer of this piece of rubbish was living … certainly not this one.
If we’re being kind to ourselves, and why wouldn’t we? we should, in truth, run a stocktake at the end of every week. One of the keys to doing that is to have a system that requires no thinking but plenty of feeling.
You know, I frequently find all things PC to be too OTT and I’m not alone. but occasionally I wonder if it’s due to my age. I have now decided it has nothing to do with my age because so many girls think the same way. Perhaps it’s something to do with being female? Am I allowed to say female?!
If you’re experiencing low self-esteem issues, which affect women of all ages, you may be challenged in your ability to receive; gratefully and graciously. Gracious. Such an old-fashioned word for an old-fashioned virtue that seems to have disappeared at Christmas and every other time of year. Or am I being non-PC for saying that?!
One of the most popular words used in almost every alternative health discipline is mindfulness. It seems to have replaced awareness which is probably thought to be old-fashioned. I suppose it is!
“I’m on a diet” you say, and there you are, suddenly faced with every diet myth in existence! “Don’t eat after 6 p.m.” “Drink lots of water.” “Eat six small meals a day” “Only eat three times a day.” “Drink shakes”. “Fast”. What does all this information do? It helps us believe that we are finding a weight loss quick fix, and the truth is there is NO quick fix.
If you are one of those people who think a Visions Board is woo-woo perhaps you should think again. Why? Because they not only work, they work well.
