Why is that when we become women of a certain age, ladies clothing becomes our enemy? If you go into any fashion shop, or look for women’s clothing online, you will find the clothing we do not want to wear; clothing suitable for 18 -25 year olds, but very little suitable or desirable for women at fifty plus …
The problem is especially noticeable in the pants arena … why is it so hard to find pants for women who are no longer in the first flush (other than a hot flush), of youth? True, our bodies are not necessarily what they were, but we don’t want to look like Granny, even if we are a granny. We still want to look stylish and sexy … the 18 year-old we once were is still alive and kicking inside.
This was one of the reasons I started the label Glamour Basics … a range of clothing for women over 50, specifically created for the boomer generation.
The first item I designed were pants … no surprises there! And I decided there is nothing more comfortable than a pair of Palazzo pants, which is what you’ve got! They are wide leg palazzo pants (note to self … er, yes … they are Palazzo pants!) and they are designed properly, meaning:
- the waist band is shaped and not just a circular piece of fabric sewed on at the top – this gives you a flattering fitted waist
- non-roll elastic is used in the waist band, so it always sits flat and doesn’t bulge through your top
- the waist band is stitched in such a way as to avoid rolling, so it sits as flat to your body as possible to avoid bunching around your stomach
- the labels are soft Damask so there’s no itchy tag scratching your lower back
- they are not made in China; I’m proud to say they are Australian made which means I can ensure quality control so you get a well made garment that lasts
- made in limited numbers these are exclusive designer pants that you won’t see on everyone at the local shops
- made from highest quality fabrics to avoid sagging in the bottom and knees, you’ll look as great in the evening as you did in the morning after a busy day in these pants
- each pair is washed and steamed before they are sent to you, so any harmful chemicals are removed and they are ready for wearing
