You’d be forgiven if you thought we’re gradually working our through the alphabet in our search for all-in-one skin care and/or foundation to make us look better and feel better about the way we look.
First it was BB, and then it was CC and now we have DD … all are creams designed to do wonderful things for your skin and all contain SPF of varying strengths.

What are they and what are the differences?
BB Cream; the first in the new alphabet.
… stands for Blemish Balm and you can build the level of coverage to something you want. Really, they are a tinted moisturiser containing primer, colour, and SPF.
BB creams especially work well if you’re somewhere with lots of sunshine. You don’t need anything else on your face. They don’t sweat off either. They were the first of the Alphabet creams.

CC Cream; the best letter in the new alphabet!
… stands for Colour Correcting cream. And it does! Colour Correct that is …
They are like BB creams, but more lightweight. You can build the coverage and yes, if you have problem areas, you really can build the cover.

DD Cream; pretty good and if it delivers what it says it will …
… stands for Daily Defence or Dynamic Do-all and is the same as BB and CC creams, with additional ingredients to prevent fine lines, wrinkles, and environmental damage.
According to the blurb, they actually diminish the fine line and wrinkles. Over time, of course.
They contain higher levels of SPF and antioxidants and the VOOX DD Cream fascinates me … does it truly lighten skin? Think of the sun spots you could cream into oblivion.
But wait … there’s more!
EE Cream; not quite in the alphabet.
… the latest kid on the block and a combination of the other alphabet letters, containing everything that’s in BB, CC and DD.
PLUS +++ it delivers whitening, hydration, anti-aging repair and sun protection SPF 50
Yes, even more whitening product … which is supposed to lighten sun blemishes and the rest.
It provides instant skin perfecting cover for an even and fresh-faced complexion. Unfortunately, I haven’t been able to find any … anywhere!
They are so on trend the trend hasn’t even started.
The Biggest Alphabet Takeaway?
If you’re a woman over 55 and you’’ve had enough of the kerfuffle of daily makeup but still want to look good, then a CC cream may be the answer.
Ridding yourself of the primer and the concealer and the foundation and the dark circles cover and the highlighter and the etc. isn’t a bad thing! If you’re skin is perfect, just use a BB.
As I said earlier, prices for all these products range from inexpensive to outrageous but you’ll spend whatever you can if it performs well. Right?
